‘Nursing Home Care 101: What You Need to Know’ to be presented on Nov. 14

Representatives from the United Senior Action Foundation will present “Nursing Home Care 101: What You Need to Know” from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 14 at the Kathryn Weil Center for Education.

The Kathryn Weil Center for Education is located on the fourth floor of the Medical Arts Building, 415 N. 26th St., Suite 400 on the campus of Home Hospital.

This program will provide straightforward, practical information to teach family members and friends how to be informed and effective advocates for their loved ones. Participants will receive a copy of “Nursing Home Care in Indiana: A Family Caregiver’s Guide” which provides in-depth information for family caregivers.

During the program, the following topics will be discussed:

  • Standards of Nursing Home Care: How It’s Supposed To Work;
  • Promoting Good Care: How to Help Make It Work; and
  • Addressing Problems in the Nursing Home: What You Can Do When It’s Not Working.
This event is sponsored by the Kathryn Weil Center for Education and St. Elizabeth Regional Health.
